A few years ago I walked into a lovely city park, Kubota Garden, in the Rainer Beach neighborhood of Seattle Washington. It's an amazing sanctuary...a few steps in and I felt transformed, as though I found genuine peace. This site-specific 38th edition of the Mary Magenta Calendar attempts to show this marvelous magical place, and this calendar is dedicated to all the energized wonderful folks who keep this park so beautifully alive!

More on the Kubota Garden: The Kubota Garden is an American-Japanese garden displaying a unique fashion of eastern and western gardening styles. Fujitaro Kubota and his family worked over 60 years to build the 20-acre garden, creating pools, bridges, waterfalls, stone arrangements and beautiful paintings in a natural ravine. The mature garden is now a Seattle City Park, open for free to the public during the day everyday. Please visit the Kubota Garden Foundation website for detailed information about the garden and foundation activities.
